Good morning, delectable reader!
And happy Tuesday. Usually, I share posts later in the week, but I wanted to update you on the next few months of Skipped History. TL;DR I’ll soon start regularly releasing interviews about the election because, well, there seems to be a lot to cover.
Past experience also suggests that the closer we get to Super Tuesday, the harder it is to get a word in edgewise that’s not about the election. This year, I won’t fight too hard against the current (taking a cue from our last post about the Mississippi River).
So, beginning in August, I’ll bring back past interviewees to hear their thoughts on the election. Unlike a lot of election coverage, our conversations will be fun! My goal is to add some historical context to the latest political twists and turns without making anyone want to crawl under a weighted blanket.
The interviews will be for paying subscribers, and I’ll publish them on Fridays after most of the week's news has broken (assassination attempts and candidate withdrawals excepted). I’ll continue sharing interviews not related to the election for all subscribers—they’ll just be a bit more ad hoc from August through November.
If you want to access the election series, you can upgrade to a paid subscription below:
If you’re a paid Skippie already, there’s nothing to do but sit back and relax. I’ll share an interview with you on Friday exploring some Olympic history, and then we’ll begin diving into the election with the new series the following week!
Your skipper,
Ben
