Hello, new subscriber!
And welcome to Skipped History. Here’s a little rundown about the publication, a sort of What to Expect When You’re Expecting Skipped History.
First things first
We send out interviews with historians on an every-other-week cadence, typically on Friday mornings. If you’d like even more history between interviews, check us out on Twitter! [Update: I’m sticking with the nasty bird app until historians gather elsewhere.]
A brief note from our Customer Service Team (aka me 💁🏻♂️)
To make sure you receive our emails (sometimes they go to spam), I’d suggest adding skippedhistory@substack.com to your contacts list.
Also, if you use Gmail and this message shows up in your ‘Promotions’ tab, I’d recommend dragging the message back to your ‘Primary’ inbox.
We also have a web series!
Yup, very fancy. It was even profiled in the New York Times. We publish episodes in seasons, and I’ll let you know when the latest one drops. You can catch all earlier episodes on YouTube:
For current (and future!) paying subscribers
Thank you! Your support keeps Skipped in business. Without you, I couldn’t spend as much time reading, researching, writing, connecting with historians, or finding life-changing videos of Australian newscasters holding roosters:
Paying subscribers receive podcast audio of interviews with historians, biweekly written bits of skipped history illuminating current events, sneak peeks of videos, and my eternal gratitude. You can sign up below!
What happens next?
I’ll see you on a Friday soon. Thanks so, so much for tuning in! I’m excited to journey into the past together.
Your skipper,
Ben
